Some sessions feel extra special, and Ashley and Nolan’s Sandbridge Beach engagement session was definitely one of them. I’ve had the joy of photographing Ashley through several seasons of her life—from her graduation photos to family sessions—and getting to meet Nolan and document this next chapter with the two of them made this session even more meaningful.
We headed to Sandbridge Beach in Virginia for an evening that could not have been more perfect. The weather was amazing, the sky was absolutely beautiful, and Ashley and Nolan brought so much fun and personality to their session. From beginning to end, these two made my job incredibly easy!
A Beautiful Sandbridge Beach Engagement Session
There’s something about a Sandbridge Beach engagement session at sunset that never gets old, and it gave us the most beautiful backdrop for Ashley and Nolan’s engagement photos.
The evening was filled with warm golden light, gorgeous skies, and plenty of laughter. Nolan and Ashley were completely themselves in front of the camera, which made it so easy to capture the genuine connection between them.
They laughed, played, walked along the shoreline, and enjoyed being together—and those are always some of my favorite moments to photograph. Rather than spending the entire session posing, we let them interact naturally and simply enjoyed the evening together.
Sandbridge was the perfect setting for their engagement photos. Between the soft evening light, beautiful shoreline, and peaceful beach, we had everything we needed to create a gallery that felt both romantic and completely them.
And these two were FUN. The kind of fun where you can tell they genuinely enjoy each other’s company, which made their session feel effortless and full of personality.
When Your Engagement Session Ends in the Ocean…
Of course, we couldn’t end the evening without a little adventure!
As the sun started to set, Ashley and Nolan were ready to go all in and get into the water. And I mean into the water. 😂
I’m always here for couples who are willing to have a little fun and get their clothes wet for the sake of some amazing photos!
In fact, those final images in the ocean ended up being some of my favorites from their entire Sandbridge Beach engagement session. There was something so fun and carefree about watching them laugh, splash around, and simply enjoy the moment together.
It was the perfect ending to an already beautiful evening—and definitely a session I won’t forget anytime soon.
After seeing how much fun they had during their engagement session, I have a feeling their wedding day is going to be filled with just as much laughter, joy, and personality.
