Savannah and Chase’s Kiln Creek Golf Club wedding was filled with beautiful details, meaningful moments, and so much joy from beginning to end.

They were engaged in May and married just a few short months later on September 4th, but you never would have known they had a shorter planning timeline. Every detail came together beautifully for their wedding day at Kiln Creek Golf Club and Resort in Newport News, Virginia.

This wedding was especially meaningful for me because I’ve had the privilege of photographing Savannah’s family for years. Through that time, I’ve also loved getting to watch Savannah and Chase grow in their relationship together, which made photographing their wedding day even more special.

A Beautiful September Wedding at Kiln Creek

Although September usually brings cooler temperatures, Virginia had other plans for their wedding day!

With the heat sticking around, the decision was made that morning to move their originally planned outdoor ceremony indoors. It may not have been the original plan, but everything came together beautifully and created such an intimate setting for their ceremony.

Savannah and Chase incorporated both a braiding unity ceremony and the washing of each other’s feet into their vows.

It was such a meaningful reflection of their faith and commitment to keeping God at the center of their marriage. Their ceremony was beautiful, intentional, and one of those moments where God’s presence could truly be felt in the details.

Portraits Around Kiln Creek Golf Club

After the ceremony, we headed outside for wedding party and bride and groom portraits around the property.

Their wedding party was so much fun, which made capturing both the traditional portraits and the more playful moments easy. Even with the September heat, everyone brought such great energy!

And of course, we made plenty of time for portraits of just Savannah and Chase. Their connection is so natural and sweet, and it was such a joy getting to capture them as newlyweds.

A Reception Full of Memorable Moments

The reception continued with so many sweet moments, starting with Savannah and Chase’s beautifully choreographed first dance.

There were heartfelt speeches from several of the people who love them most, plenty of laughter, and even a special guitar performance from Savannah’s brother.

To close out the night, everyone gathered together for one big group photo. I loved this idea—it was such a fun way to document all of the family and friends who came together to celebrate them.

Savannah and Chase, it was such a joy getting to photograph this season of your lives. From watching your relationship grow to now getting to document the beginning of your marriage, I’m so grateful to have been part of it.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Barden! 🤍
