Officially getting back into the swing of blogging for 2023!!! Soooo many amazing sessions I have lined up to share but first up – Brent and Alyssa’s Yorktown Wedding on one of the most beautiful days in April. Get ready to see a day full of love and happiness for a deserving couple!!
Alyssa and Brent’s love story is so unique to the Yorktown/Poquoson area. They both are from the same hometown but their paths never really crossed until a little over a year ago. However, they instantly had a connection and began their journey together leading up to this special day.
The afternoon began with getting ready portraits followed by first looks. Alyssa looked absolutely STUNNING in her dress!! It seriously looks like it was made for her!!! She decided to do a first look with her dad and y’all which is always such a special moment – his little girl to beautiful bride. Next Alyssa and Brent shared a first look together. All those stomach butterflies instantly go away as soon as you see your future spouse during an intimate moment of just you two. Brent turned around and his smile never left his face!! Seeing his beautiful bride for the first time that day was so special to witness. They’re truly such a sweet couple.
The ceremony took place at their local church, Poquoson Baptist Church. It was an intimate ceremony with family and friends, putting God at the forefront of their union. I love that they included a rope braiding demonstrating Christ, Husband, and Wife intertwined to make a healthy marriage. Another special touch was having a song played during this moment with their niece being one of the singers.
After all the family formals we moved on to the reception location which was the Freight Shed on the water in Yorktown. A beautiful backdrop and venue for the couple and guests to kick back and enjoy the rest of the night!!! Some of the key moments include Alyssa’s grandparents requesting a song and the couple dancing alongside of them. Also, the Freight Shed is where Alyssa and Brent had one of their first dates so we even recreated one of their first photos as a couple!
Congratulations Alyss and Brent!!! I feel so blessed for the opportunity to play a small role in their special day! It was absolutely beautiful and I truly wish them nothing but the best in their marriage.
