Brandon and Kristin’s wedding day included all the fall and rustic vibes.  These are two of the sweetest, most genuine people and were sooo excited to get married. Their initial wedding plans may have changed due to COVID but I truthfully don’t think their day could have been any better! With their closest family and friends in attendance, they were married on a perfect October afternoon in Smithfield Virginia.

Like many other 2020 couples, COVID affected Brandon and Kristin’s original wedding plans. They were faced with some pretty difficult decisions. What do we do about our guest list? Should we change our venue? Should we postpone? However, this was exactly the wedding they were meant to have.

Kristin and Brandon chose to follow through with their plans and alter their venue location. Their new ceremony location was exactly what Kristin had dreamed of! They were able to have all their family and friends in attendance and the day was simply beautiful!

Something unique about this wedding was that Brandon and Kristin chose to not share a “first look” before their wedding. With a ceremony time of 6:30 in October that means all of their Bride and Groom portraits were captured in the dark. This provided a great opportunity to get creative with some flash and see what magic we could create 😉 First time doing portraits in the dark and I’m pretty excited with the results!!

Kristin did however do first looks with her bridesmaids, brother, and her father. Y’all – it took everything in me to hold back my own tears on some of these because of how sweet and emotional they were!!

A few of my other favorite moments from the day include Kristin and Brandon reading notes to each other before the ceremony ~ if you choose not to do a first look, this is a great way to still “connect” with your spouse beforehand. Also, the way Brandon looked at Kristin when he saw her coming down the aisle towards him. The sweetest!!!

Thank you so much to Brandon and Kristin for allowing me the privilege of capturing their wedding day. Perfect way to kick off this fall season!! I wish them both nothing but the best in their marriage and wish them many happy years! Also, be sure to check out their epic sunflower field engagement session. Keep that scroll to see some of my favorite moments throughout the day.

All my best,

Emily
