The moment still seems so surreal. You’re pregnant. You’ve been growing this tiny baby for weeks now. Feeling those little flutters. Imagining how your life will soon be completely different while anxiously anticipating your baby’s arrival!!! However, before that happens every woman should document this season of motherhood. Maternity photos are the perfect way to capture this special bond between you and your baby.
When To Schedule Photos
When trying to figure out the best time to schedule maternity photos, generally around 30 weeks is recommended. This way your beginning your third trimester and glowing with pregnancy beauty!! Although, I do believe that scheduling photos before or after this time is perfectly fine as well. Your growing baby belly will be beautiful regardless of how far along you are.
A friend/client of mine had her baby before we were able to do her actual “maternity session” but since we had sporadic “sessions” throughout her pregnancy those photos were a great way to still represent that special season of motherhood with her baby.
“I am so thankful I did a maternity shoot earlier into my pregnancy than people recommend! Looking back at my bump, even only being in my second trimester, makes me so happy!” – Brooke (photos taken at 28 weeks)
Location Tips
When it comes to choosing a location for your session, it’s important to pick one that best represents you. The location should be somewhere you feel completely comfortable. If you have a specific location in mind, great!! I’d love to go somewhere that may have meaning to you or holds a special place in your heart. If not, don’t worry I’ve still got you covered with some pretty awesome places if you need a few recommendations 😉
If the season/weather does not permit for outside then what better place than the comfort of your own home! Think silhouettes by a window, in your baby’s nursery, or even a fun romantic session of you and your hunny in the kitchen would be great!
What to Expect
These sessions can last anywhere from 1 – 1.5 hours. I like having plenty of time to get all those photo variations of just you and your bump, you and your hunny, the whole family, etc. Like I tell all my clients, the first 20 minutes will always feel the most awkward. We use this time to get to know one another while I suggest a few of the basic poses. From there I’ll provide a few fun prompts to get you thinking about life with your little babe, to draw out those natural connections and genuine smiles.
How To Book
The best way to schedule any type of session or get in contact with me is always through my website. I don’t know about y’all but I feel like anytime people send me messages on social media 9 time out of 10 they end up in some random folder I never knew existed haha! Needless to say those messages do not get answered in a timely fashion. Although, the great news is, every page on the website has a contact form with minor information from you so I know exactly what you’re looking for and how to best serve you! You can find that contact form HERE.
When filling out the contact form be sure to select MATERNITY MILESTONE PACKAGE as your session of choice. I’ll then send you an email with all the information you’ll need to know about prices, types of sessions offered, and the booking process which includes
