Does anybody here have family reunions??? Coming from a military background, my family lives in multiple different states. We usually try to get together about once a year (hence our long roads trips with the kids earlier this year lol!!). When together, it’s always busy, loud, and hard to make plans while scrambling everyone together. BUT there are always so many amazing memories made!!! Extended family sessions are the perfect way to preserve those amazing memories!

When Becca reached out to me about doing this extended family session I knew it was going to be a good time. I’ve photographed some of these families individually but never the whole Dorschel fam, all together!! With a portion of them living on the other coast, it’s not too often they’re all together. So, I knew this extended family session was going to be very special!!

While in the moment it can seem chaotic and feel like your trying to put socks on chickens (HAHA!), but extended family sessions are always worth it! These moments are so fleeting and you want to remember things exactly how they are ~ even if it includes a few tears, scrapes, and pinecones in the feet from running through the grass 😉

Have some reserves about scheduling your own extended family session??

DON’T!!

Think your family is just “too much” to try and get together for pictures??

NEVER!!

I promise to make things go as smoothly as possible. There will be genuine laughs from all involved because I have no problem gettin down and dirty. Playing games to make y’all laugh is my specialty! Plus – you’ll also receive a very large gallery in the end. With so many people involved, there are endless options for photo groupings!! It’s my goal to work with you and plan out as much as we can to make this the best possible session for you and your family.

Listen to what Becca had to say about this extended family session:

“For Mother’s Day I gave my mom a gift of a family photo shoot. We have not had our entire family together ever! I knew it was a moment that we had to take advantage of. There are lots of kids, and lots of husbands who were not too excited about it, but I knew Emily would make it amazing! She is always wonderful with the kids and can capture smiles even during meltdowns! She even gets the grumpy old husbands to smile and participate happily! Through meltdowns, 90 degree days, and tons of people to coordinate, our pictures are amazing and came out so perfectly! We will cherish them forever! Even though it could be chaotic, it ended up being really fun and the results are simply perfect.”

Interested in booking your own family session??? GREAT!! I’d love to hear from you! Click here to fill out the contact form and tell me a little about yourself and what you’re looking for. Can’t wait to hear from you <3
