What do you do when the forecast calls for 70% chance of rain on the day of your engagement pictures?? You TRUST your photographer!!! Thankfully this couple did just that, giving us the chance to make a little magic happen during the misty rain at the cutest location in Newport News!!
Caitlyn and Harrison are seriously just a fun loving couple. I first met Caitlyn at a previous wedding I shot earlier this year. She was the maid of honor and one of those who did not come off the dance floor, just ready for a good time. When I met them both at their wedding consult a few weeks ago, Harrison perfectly complimented her. Lovingly supporting her and giving suggestions on all things engagement and wedding. They’ve been together for almost 2 years now and after a picnic date in the bed of his truck, he proposed to her on a little beach near ODU!
During our consult I showed them a few location suggestions for their engagement session. They chose one of my favvvorite spots in Newport News. Little did we know we’d also be dealing with misty rain, a park ranger who kindly escorted us off the beach, aaanndd then a torrential downpour all within 1 hour of being there hahaha!!!! But these two never showed any discouragement. They were just happy to be together and laughed their way through it all.
Can’t wait for their May wedding next year at their home church in Suffolk, VA. It’s going to be simply beautiful and I’m soooo excited to see what all they come up with!! In the meantime check out some of my favorites from their engagement session.
