This past weekend I had the pleasure of doing one of my favorite types of sessions – Extended Family!! Now you may be wondering why? Why do you need extended family photos? Well for starters these sessions are awesome because they’re basically a one stop shop for all things family photos (aka best gifts ever for grandparents and all family members haha!). Time with family is precious and documenting it can be one of the best investments you make.

Now I know that planning one of these can send some of yall into a straight panic attack. Trust me, I get it! You’ve gotta find outfits for errryyyybody, pick a date/time that works with everyone’s busy schedules, then the fun task of smiling and looking pretty the day of.

BUT don’t fret! Trust me when I say I’m here to help ease your mind through the ENTIRE PROCESS. My goal is to not only get those beautifullll family photos you’re looking for but also make it an enjoyable experience for you and your family. One where you can look back and laugh (even if it is at my own expense lol). I only ask that you come into the session with an open mind and ready for a good time!

Let me take a minute to tell you some of the ways I make this happen. We always begin by working big groups to small, keeping the kids entertained along the way. I know a big stressor for parents can be factoring in whether or not the kids will cooperate. Well, don’t worry. If they’re not responding too well to what we’re trying to do then we don’t keep forcing. Switch it up! Let them play a game, get those fun candids, TICKLE FIGHTS! And y’all let it be known that I am not above bribery hahaha!!

Next, don’t expect to just stand/sit still and fake smile the entire time…. oh no no no! Not my style! There will be some assistance to get y’all in a flattering formation for a group photo then after that it’s game on 🙂 in this family session we had some fun with figuring out who is the favorite child, who takes the longest to get ready, and even a twerking competition.

These sessions generally last about an hour and a half but trust me when I say, I keep things quick and painless! The longer time is to ensure we get all those photo pairings you could imagine. Some of the main ones I try to focus on include: whole family, grandparents with grandkids, all the children, siblings, parents, individual families, generational photos, and many more!

If you’re sitting there reading this trying to remember the last time you’ve had family photos with your WHOLE FAMILY and struggling to recall the date (if it’s even happened) then you’re in luck!! I’d LOVE to work with you and all the unique fun your family can bring to a session!!

Now is also the best time to book one of these sessions. Next year I’ll be reevaluating my packages and prices will increase. However, right now I’m running a special “holiday sale” of 15% off current prices!! This sale last until MIDNIGHT Wednesday December 4th and invoices must be paid in full. Session dates can be chosen at a later time! Follow me to learn about all the holiday discounts HERE!

Hope to work with you and your family next year!!!

All the best,

Emily
